Annekay Ventures is a family run farm in Bela-Bela, built on years of knowledge, a love for growing and a dream of creating something meaningful for the next generation.
Our story began long before Annekay Ventures had a name.
In 2006, JE (my husband) began working on the farm under the guidance of Bert van der Velt from the Netherlands. Bert spent several years sharing his knowledge and teaching JE the skills behind growing quality greenery.
Those years planted the foundations of what we are building today.
After Bert passed away, we had the opportunity to buy the farm and continue what had been started here. We initially focused on greenery, supplying our produce to the Multiflora Market in Johannesburg.
Now we are ready for the next chapter.
After almost 20 years as an accountant, Michelle is embracing a new balance. She will continue working part time as an accountant while spending the rest of her working time alongside JE on the farm. Together, we are expanding Annekay Ventures to include pot plants, herbs, seeds and bulbs while continuing to grow the greenery that started it all.
This is more than a business to us. It is a family venture, a piece of land we love and, hopefully, a legacy that will continue growing long after us.
